JUST ANOTHER MOVIE? OR THE DEVIL AT PLAY? PS. DAVID J LEET, first published on 05/07/1999.

INTRODUCTION

At the beginning, a child who w’ll call Bob, was born into this world of flesh.  As he grew up to adulthood, he had to come to know his world as any other person would.

The only problem was that unbeknownst to Bob, it was all only make-believe or lies.

This deception was carried out by people who were supposedly his friends and neighbours.  In reality, they were all actors playing out their roles in a very unique show which was live on air from the every day Bob was born,  The intention was to film a human life from birth to death.

However, these actors were also deceived along with Bob.  They were given a lifetime job, sure enough, but were deluded into thinking it was also a very worthwhile project.  And, of course, there was the fame and riches life of the life of movie stars.

The devils was played by the director/producer, who had conceived this idea, this deception or lie.

Let’s compare a scriptures:

Matthew 4 V 8:

8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

Matthew 4 V 9:

9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

Again the devil taketh Him up into an exceeding high mountain and showed Him all the glory of them!  And said unto Him, all these things will I give Thee, if Thou will fall down and worship me.

Can you see the parallel here between the movie and the temptation of our Lord Jesus Christ? (And perhaps this is not so dissimilar to your own life).

Everyone and everything was false.  His home, his town, the school, the very job that he had ow at the age of 23.  As Bob grew up, there were two (2) people in his life who were taken away from him.  The first was his own screen dad.  He knew it was a deception and tried to explain to an 8 year old Bob what was happening.  There was a “batting accident”, and dad was swept over board.  He “drowned/was removed”from the show.

The second person was his college sweetheart.  She tried to expose the lies also.  They wrote her out as well.  She “went insane” and was placed in an asylum in another town, never to be seen or heard from again.

Though both of these actors were removed from the movie, the sees were sown into Bob’s mind and lay dormant until later in his adult working life.

John 10 V 10A:

10 “the thief comes not but of to steal and to kill and to destroy”.

These actors and Bob, were not the only ones rot be deceived and manipulated however.  The viewers were so “hooked” on watching, because they wanted to see Bob win out.  Thusly they unwittingly had been manipulated in their thoughts and imaginations, desires, emotions and their conversations,  The devil twists and distorts the truth for his own gain.

John 8 V 44:

44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Yea are of the the father, the devil, and the lusts of you father you will do.  He was a murderer from the beginning, and abide not in the truth, because there is not truth in him.  When he speakers, he speakers of his own; for her is a liar, and the father of it.

You see, in both cases, there is a common factor.  The director moved in frantically to remove the truth by distorting it an clouding it with the cares and worries of his little world. 

See the parable of the sower four in:

Matthew 13 V 3-9:

3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;

4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:

5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:

6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.

7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:

8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.

9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Speaking of seeds!  What happened to Bob the, after all these years, those seeds planted by his father and his sweetheart started to bear fruit?

Bob was noticing how his “wife” would actually do a commercial in the kitchen holding up a new brand of coffee or milk etc.  He would ask her why are you talking like that?  Who are you talking to?

He began to wonder why everyone did and said the same things day in and day out.  That’s when they had trouble with Bob.  He started to do things out of character and out of place.  When he finally slopped out of the town to the bay without being noticed, a big search ensued.

They found him on the bay in a sailboat.  This was against the fear instilled in hi when, as a child, he lost his father, which kept him away from water all his life.

Yes, you guessed it!  They created a deadly storm to “take him out”. However due to staff walk-outs, this failed.  He finally knew the truth about all of his life and surroundings.

John 8 V 32:

32 “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”.

Bob found the door marked “exit”  He then made his decision to leave this falsehood and take whatever his new life would bring.  He chose life over death, truth over deception, good over bad.

Deuteronomy 30 V 15-20:

15 See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;

16 In that I command thee this day to love the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the Lord thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

17 But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;

18 I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it.

19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

20 That thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

Choose life over death, blessing over nursing.  God is your life.  Cleave unto Him.

YOU TOO CAN CHOOSE LIFE!  God is not that far away.

Revelations 3 V 20-22:

20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

"Behold I stand at the door and knock.  That is the door of your heart!"

Revelation 3 V 5:

5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

“..I will confess His name before My Father.”

Open your ears and understand today!  Open your heart to the Lord Jesus Christ right now.

He is closer than you think!  ?No matter how your life was or is now.  No matter how bad you have been, choose truth over deception.  Choose life over death.

John 3 V 16:

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever  (you) believers in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life”

Let Jesus Christ show you the truth as it says in:

John 14 V 6:

“I am the way, the truth and the life, No man cometh unto the Father but by Me."

Come, dear soul, through all of your pain and tears confusion, even while in your sin.  Come to your Heavenly Father.. He is reaching down to your no matter how deep the hole or despair you are in.. He loves you and counts you of such great worth!

So much that, He bought you with a price you could not bear to pay or to repay.  His free gift to you is life.  The price paid?  

HIS ONLY SON JESUS CHRIST iIN EXCHANGE FOR YOU: Why?  Because as it says in:

2 Peter 3 V 9:

“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness: but is long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."
